Homemade Lasagna

The Ultimate Classic lasagna! There will be one day when you have that extreme desire to make your own lasagna because you remember those days in Swensens, sniffing up the aroma of freshly baked lasagna. Only thing is they don’t make it fresh. So, why not make your own lasagna? Thanks to Tasty recipe and a few more research on YouTube, now you can follow my steps and try out the classic lasagna recipe.

Ingredients for bolognese

  • 2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • 450g ground beef
  • 5 cups marinara sauce
  • Few dashes of worchestershire sauce
  • 1 dash italian herbs
  • 1 dash red pepper flakes
  • Salt n black pepper

Step 1: Preheat oven to 180C. Grease lasagna baking pan.

Step 2: Bring all ingredients to simmer. The longer, the better. Add water and stir occasionally.

Ingredients for cheese filling

  • 1 egg
  • 250g ricotta
  • 2 tbs fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of parmesan
  • 1/2 cup of mozarella
  • A dash of cayenne peppers, optional
  • Salt n black pepper

Step 3: Mix all the above well.

  • 1 box of San Remo Instant Lasagna sheets
  • Generous parmesan n mozarella cheese for top layer
  • Finely chopped Italian parsley for garnish

Step 4: Okay, aligned as such. Bottom layer bolognese, followed by lasagna sheets, ricotta cheese, bolognese, lasagna sheets, ricotta cheese, bolognese, lasagna sheets, bolognese and lastly topped with our generous parmesan n mozarella cheese for top layer.

Tip: Make sure to cover the lasagna sheets with beef, fully covered. You will need to divide your fillings into 4 equal portions of bolognese and 2 equal portions of the ricotta cheese filling.

Step 5: Cover lasagna with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Step 6: Remove the foil and continue to bake for another 40 minutes. Remove from the oven, garnish with Italian parsley and let it cool for 20 minutes. Serve while hot. Delizioso!
