Scalloped Potatoes

The best version of baked potatoes! It looks complicated but trust me, it’s not. Once you get the hang of it, you can do improv and you will definitely make this dish more than once! Truly inspired by none other than Tasty. I’m currently using a Halogen oven. It still has the same effect if you are just using your normal convention oven so no worries, give it a go!

90 mins (baking time incl.) | Serves 4

Step 1: Preheat oven to 180*C

Ingredients

  • 2 inch thick butter (2 tbs)
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbs all-purpose flour
  • 2 cup milk
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

Step 2: In a small pot, melt butter and fry garlic. Add the rest and whisk while frying.

Step 3: Slowly add in the milk and whisk well.

  • 6 potatoes, peeled and sliced as thinly as possible
  • grated parmesan/cheddar cheese, as desired
  • fresh parsley, chopped

Step 4: Place the sliced potatoes nicely in the baking dish. You can fan them out nicely.

Step 5: Place the sauce on top of the potatoes evenly.

Step 6: Sprinkle as many cheese as u want.

Step 7: Bake for 1.5 hour or more. Do not burn the top cheese. Use a stick to poke thru and check the hardness of the potato to determine if its thoroughly cooked or not.

Step 8: Once done, removed from oven and sprinkle chopped parsley on top as garnish. Serve while hot. Delish!
